RaceTrac Travel Center is under construction at Lamar and American Way. The Reaves Firm provided survey, entitlements, civil engineering, and landscape architecture for this project.

Happy National Surveyor's week!

🇺🇸 National Surveyors Week is underway!

First proclaimed by President Ronald Reagan in 1984, National Surveyors Week celebrates the vital role surveyors have played in shaping the United States.

In the original proclamation, Reagan noted:
💬 “In the colonial days, surveyors were among the leaders in the community – statesmen, influential citizens, and shapers of cultural standards.”

As part of this year’s campaign, NSPS - The National Society of Professional Surveyors are highlighting the surveying history behind Mount Rushmore, and it’s a great reminder of the profession’s legacy.

Three of the four presidents carved into Mount Rushmore were surveyors:
📏 George Washington
📏 Thomas Jefferson
📏 Abraham Lincoln

A reminder that surveying has long been connected to leadership, exploration and nation building.
