A lot can change in 11 years.

In 2015, the USDA took a nationwide look at health and management practices across the U.S. equine industry. Now, in 2026, they're doing it again.

The new National Equine Study is examining equine care, health management and disease occurrence, use of veterinary services, and other issues affecting horses and the people responsible for them. Selected operations across all 50 states are being asked to participate.

The results will eventually give the industry something especially valuable: a new benchmark for understanding what has changed, where challenges are emerging, and where equine health and management may be headed next.

But we're interested in hearing from the people living those changes every day.

Every pathway starts with the mare. But from there, every step matters.

At , we shared some new research that reinforced the importance of the solutions used throughout equine assisted reproduction... from oocyte recovery and holding through embryo development and post-vitrification management.

One study demonstrated how BotuFlush OPU + BotuOocyte significantly improved oocyte maturation rate while maintaining oocyte recovery. A second study found improved pregnancy maintenance through day 60 when BotuEmbryo Up was used following vitrification.

Research continues to help us refine the details and build better protocols from recovery to pregnancy.
