What keeps someone at Beta for 10 years? For Terri Boone, it's not just the work. It's the people.

What better way to wrap up the summer than with a little friendly competition? 🏆

Our annual summer co****le league brought us together for weekly games, where employees and interns from every department had the chance to connect, compete, and cheer each other on. Today, we crowned our champions during the tournament finale, with a pair of interns winning it all.

Congratulations to Erin Cooper and Cameron Mahfouz on taking home the title, and thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and made this summer tradition such a success!

🌟🐾 Every star has an origin story...meet ours!

To celebrate the Dog Days of Summer, teammates from across the country put their pets in the spotlight through a friendly photo contest, showcasing everything from sleepy cats and adventurous dogs to lookalikes and even most exotic pet.

After the votes were counted, each winning pet received the VIP treatment: a custom sticker designed to capture everything that makes them unforgettable.

You'll be seeing these furry (and feathery) faces popping up at Beta events and trade shows throughout the year, so consider this their official debut.

Every engineer starts somewhere. Erin Cooper started by her dad's side—holding the flashlight, helping fix things, and discovering the satisfaction of building something tangible.

Even then, engineering wasn't a career she imagined for herself.

"I never thought earning a degree in engineering was a possibility for me. Eventually, I realized I can do anything I want to do if I'm willing to work for it."

After two years studying biology, Erin realized it wasn't the path she wanted. It was through internships that she found the confidence to change directions.

Today, Erin is completing a civil engineering degree at Louisiana Tech University and spending the summer interning with Beta, where she's gaining hands-on experience designing projects that will support communities for years to come.

Her hard work was recently recognized with the Louisiana Engineering Society Society Women's Auxiliary Scholarship, awarded to outstanding women pursuing engineering careers.

When asked what advice she'd give to someone who's afraid to change direction, Erin didn't hesitate:

"Don't let the fear of messing up keep you from chasing your dreams. If there's something you enjoy, go after it. Don't be afraid to start over like I did."

The best part of an internship? Connecting the dots between your work and the impact it has.

Our summer interns recently toured the facility where Agile by Beta® Factory-Built Substations are built. Whether they're supporting engineering, accounting, project management, or another part of the business, seeing the manufacturing process helped our interns better understand how they contribute to Beta's substation EPC work.

As they walked through the facility, they saw firsthand how our Factory-Built Substations are assembled in modular sections inside a weather-controlled environment before being shipped to the jobsite. It's an approach that helps utilities fast-track substation construction without sacrificing quality.
