Welcome back to our Frequently Asked Questions series, where we answer some of the most asked questions we have gotten.

This week’s question: Is the Rainforest opened? Not yet! We are hoping to open this area in early 2025! We will have many different animals including a toucan, otters, and even a sloth! Members will get early access to the rainforest, so if you want to be some of the first people to experience the rainforest, be sure to become a member! Check out our Giant Pacific Octopus (Enteroctopus dofleini)! It is the largest octopus in the world, with the heaviest weighing in at 600 pounds! She has about 2,240 suction cups along her eight arms that she uses to grab food and play with enrichment. She is incredibly smart, able to open jars to access food, complete puzzles and mazes, as well as recognize her favorite caregiver, Tom! She has already outsmarted us multiple times by finding all of the best hiding spots in her enclosure.

The moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived. We are pleased to announce that we will be opening on Wednesday February 21st at 11am! Are you ready to explore the wonders of the sea and come face to face with sharks? How about interacting with some of our amazing animals in one of our two touch tanks? And how could we forget about our amazing variety of reptiles from around the world. Don’t want to wait in line to purchase tickets opening day? Buy them online and skip the line! We look forward to seeing you.

Happy Shark Week! Big things are happening at the Aquarium! These are 2 of our window panels for our 110,000 gallon shark tank! Our shark tank will be over 5 times the size of your average swimming pool! Sharks are coming soon! Stay tuned!
