Now that our projects for this year are moving through the design process, here’s what we did on the week of 8/30 to 9/5 🗓️ :

Vehicle/Recovery 🚀🪂
- Dremelled and sanded bulkheads created last Friday
- Performed layups on tensile bars
- Attempted a dry wind with club filament winder project Doohickey, as well as modifications and CAD reworking
- Patched parachute holes, organized the shock cord bin, and started an inventory for recovery supplies

Payload 🪨🛞
- Worked on CAD for the body of the payload rover
- Explored self-righting mechanisms for the rover
- Planned out code for launch detection PCB and created a parts list to begin schematic design

Aerodynamics/Airbrakes 💨
- Researched rocket boattails
- Started construction of a weight testing structure for airbrakes

Wolfworks 🐺🔧
- Researched positioning of pressure tanks in the airframe, preventing temperature drops for a 5-10 second burn time

Things are beginning to shape up as we begin a new school year! Here’s what we did on the week of 8/23 to 8/29 🗓️ :Vehic...

On June 13th, six of our club members went down to Dalzell, SC to launch their personal rockets!

Congratulations to the amazing L1 launches by Wilder Prevatt on his rocket Gon, Ben Roylance on his rocket Dagget, Khushi on her rocket Poseidon, and Julia on her rocket IHJ!

A double-sized congratulations to Mads Groennegaard on his successful L2 launch with his rocket Munin!

Harshil’s rocket, Pinpointer, unfortunately had issues with the nosecone structure and rail buttons. But fear not, Pinpointer will return!

Despite the heat, our club members made the most of the day’s launch and are more ready than ever for the next one! 🚀
