Another big day in Kennebunk as today marked a successful bridge deck placement — the second bridge deck completed in just two weeks! 🚧🏗️

A lot of planning, teamwork, and hard work goes into days like this, and our crew continues to deliver. Proud of the dedication and craftsmanship our team brings to every project as we keep improving infrastructure across Maine. 👏

🕰️ 14 HOURS LATER, the second phase of I-295 Exit 4 Bridge Deck has been placed, finished, and is tucked in 🛌 nicely for the next 7 days of heated water curing!

With such variation in ambient temperatures ☀️➡️ 🥶 it is very difficult to pinpoint the concrete “set time” - aka when it will be hard enough to walk on. Unfortunately, this one took longer than we had hoped, but the team stuck it out, saw the sun rise, again - and GOT IT DONE. 🏁 💪

🚧🦺Here are two sites that are in the starting blocks and ready to take off for the season! 🏃‍♂️

- First, we’ve got the long awaited Rt. 202 Northbound Bridge deck. The crew is puting the finishing touches to the bulkheads and reinforcing steel while we wait for Mother Nature to give us the appropriate weather window ☀️! Once that happens it will be full steam ahead 🚂getting curbs placed, bridge rail installed, approach roadway completed and traffic switched over so we can do it all again Southbound!

- Next, is the Essex St. Bridge Replacement project in Dover-Foxcroft. New utility poles are being installed so that overhead ⚡️💡electrical and 📞☎️🛜 communication lines can be relocated. Test borings are being completed to ensure bedrock 🪨 is where anticipated and the most efficient substructure design is utilized. This job brings various challenges, but a good plan and great crew have us very optimistic!
