Autism does not have one single biological cause.
For some families, specific maternal autoantibodies may be part of the picture. These autoantibodies can cross the placenta during pregnancy and have been associated with a biologically defined subtype called Maternal Autoantibody-Related autism, or MAR-autism.
The MAR-Autism™ Test uses a blood sample from the mother to identify these specific autoantibody patterns. It is intended for mothers who already have a child diagnosed with autism or showing signs of autism.
For families seeking biological answers or considering future children, this information can support more informed conversations with healthcare providers.
