This garage floor was already in good condition, but the homeowner wanted to protect it from the harsh wear of South Dakota living before the concrete ever started showing signs of breakdown. Since he spends a lot of time out in the garage, he also wanted a floor that was easier to keep clean and wanted to bring the garage floor up to the same level as his modern American muscle car that lives in there.

Safe to say all the boxes got checked on this one. Clean, durable, easy to maintain, and a huge upgrade to the overall feel of the space.

Here are 3 more garage floors we wrapped up this week at Kustom Epoxy Floors. We got to use a really fun variety of colors and styles this week, from a bright blue-heavy blend, to a light gray and white hybrid flake, to a neutral mix of grays, browns, black, and white that fit the homes perfectly.

Every one of these floors is a huge upgrade that completely changes the feel of the garage while adding durability and making the space much easier to keep clean. All installed by our experienced in-house crew using proven products and processes built to last.

This basement floor had been through years of wear with multiple old layers of paint, rust stains, and surface discoloration built up over time. We removed all the failing coatings and contaminants and installed a brand new coating system that is built to last.

Now the space is bright, clean, easy to maintain, and completely transformed. Unlike carpet, laminate, or other traditional basement flooring options, this floor won’t be ruined by a leaky pipe, moisture issues, or flooding, making it a durable long-term solution for basement spaces.

Some homes get updated over the years while the garage gets left behind. That was the case with this beautiful home in one of Sioux Falls’ established upscale neighborhoods. The house had been upgraded and well cared for, but the garage floor was still showing years of wear with cracks, pitting, staining, and was very hard to clean.

Now it finally matches the quality of the rest of the property

We repaired the cracks and surface damage, properly prepped the concrete with shot blasting, and installed our full flake floor coating system that completely transformed the space into a clean, bright, and striking finish built for long-term durability and easy maintenance.

Another busy week in the books for the crew at Kustom Epoxy Floors.

Monday started with a 1,600 sq. ft. garage floor that was fully prepped, epoxied, and flaked before the crew headed straight to Mitchell to continue Phase 2 at Peaceful Pines Senior Living. The laundry rooms received our Terrazzo-style double broadcast quartz system, while the bathrooms were completed with quartz flooring and 6" integral cove base systems designed for long-term durability and easy maintenance.

We also wrapped up multiple residential garage floors along with a break room floor for a local construction company.

One thing that stood out this week was helping out another coating contractor who ran into extremely hard concrete that their diamond grinders wouldn’t cut into properly. We stepped in and shot blasted the floor for them so they could stay on schedule and get the home completed in time for the Parade of Homes this weekend. Situations like that are exactly why proper equipment and experience matter so much in this industry.

From garages to commercial and industrial projects, every floor we install gets the same attention to prep, detail, and proven materials that have kept us going strong for 17 years.

Kicking off the week early this morning with the crew starting on a 1,600 sq ft garage floor, getting it fully prepped, epoxied, and flaked today. Tomorrow it’ll get the control joints filled and a polyaspartic topcoat to finish it off.

After the garage today, the crew is heading to Mitchell to continue Phase 2 at Peaceful Pines Senior Living. The laundry rooms are be getting our terrazzo-style system, while the bathrooms and commercial kitchen are getting a double broadcast quartz system with 6" integral cove base.

On top of that, we’ve got three more garages and a break room for a local construction company lined up for the rest of the week.

This garage floor was already in pretty good shape overall. It had a few stains, some normal wear, and a bit of settling that caused the control joints to become uneven. Uneven cracks and joints like this are something we’re able to correct as part of the process, getting everything leveled out and ready for coating.

We started this project Monday morning around 8:00 and had everything completed by Tuesday morning around 10:30.

Now the space has a completely different feel. It’s clean, bright, and feels like a true extension of the home instead of just a garage. The surface is easy to maintain, has a nice anti-slip texture without being rough on bare feet, and is built to handle years of use and stay looking great.

As always, this incredible result comes down to doing the prep right, using proven materials, and having our in-house crew handle the entire process from start to finish.
