After two years of construction, the Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is officially open!

The amphitheater features 7,000 fixed seats, 5,000 lawn seats, a performance platform, a talent villa, food and beverage spaces, and dedicated ticketing and refreshment facilities.

Along with our partner, Pioneer Construction, we're proud to have built a space that will bring the community together and help families make memories for years to come!

Barton Malow has officially broken ground on a major 52,000 SF Field Services expansion in Oak Park, Michigan. 🪏🦺

Once the home of our corporate headquarters, Oak Park has been part of our story since 1961. The Yard, our centralized hub that keeps self-perform teams equipped and ready across every market we serve, will be expanded to include new office space, training areas, tool and material storage, trucking operations, and more.

This is the first company-owned facility Barton Malow has built since constructing its Southfield headquarters 25 years ago. Completion is slated for summer 2027.

Last week, Barton Malow team members joined Lake Shore Public Schools students, staff, and leadership for the ribbon cutting of its new Community and Early Childhood Center in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.

The Community Center is complete with amenities like an indoor turf field house, pickleball courts, a rock-climbing wall, and more. The Early Childhood Center provides a safe, nurturing, and affordable environment where young learners take their first steps in education. We're proud to have built a facility that will bring students, families, and neighbors together for generations to come.

Groundbreaking day in Estevan, Saskatchewan. ☀️

On Friday, June 5, our team in Canada officially broke ground on the Turning Sun Solar project alongside Greenwood Sustainable Infrastructure and Ocean Man Nakoda Nation. The 100MWac facility is the largest renewable energy project currently under construction in Canada and will generate enough power for the equivalent of 25,000 homes.

We're proud to serve as the EPC contractor as we continue to build a partnership rooted in land stewardship and a shared commitment to renewable energy.

How it started ➡️ How it's going

In July 2025, the Barton Malow–Turner–Dixon tri-venture construction team placed the world’s first-ever W14x1000 steel column at Henry Ford Health's Destination: Grand project in Detroit. Weighing in at 1,000 pounds per foot, it’s the heaviest rolled steel section ever produced, and it was manufactured using 98% recycled scrap and clean electricity in Europe, making it some of the greenest steel in the world.

Fast forward to today, and the column stands as the backbone of a transformational building taking shape, with concrete being placed around it and Detroit's skyline changing by the day.

The Barton Malow | AECOM Hunt team recently hosted a Construction Safety Training as part of the Camping World Stadiumm Community Impact Plan (CIP) initiative, bringing together local community members for a hands-on, interactive learning experience focused on jobsite safety.

Led by Barton Malow Safety Director Jeff Raymer, the training provided essential safety knowledge and hands-on skills for identifying real jobsite hazards. This effort reflects our ongoing commitment, through the Camping World Stadium Community Impact Plan, to building a safer, stronger local workforce.

Meet Barton Malow Intern Jay Mattis! 👋

Each summer, Barton Malow welcomes dozens of interns to its jobsites, providing students with hands-on experience that prepares them for a career in the industry. Construction Management Intern Jay Mattis joined the team in 2024 and has returned every summer since. A Penn State student, Jay is currently contributing to the construction of a new physics building on campus, a facility that will support the next generation of researchers in higher education.
