The LDC Property Maintenance team, under the watchful eye of our Horticulturalist, has been caring diligently for the plants destined for the Larrakia Cultural Centre.

Simon shared horticultural knowledge with the crew, providing practical guidance on plant health and maintenance. Making it a valuable chance for the team to build their skills and broaden their understanding of the work involved in maintaining plants for large-scale projects.

Great to see the team taking every opportunity to learn something new!

MEDIA RELEASE: Farrar West development moves forward, creating homes and opportunities for the community.

Larrakia Development Corporation (LDC) and Northern Territory Government have announced approval for the Farrar West residential development, a significant new community on the edge of the Palmerston CBD that will deliver much-needed housing while creating lasting social and economic benefits for the Northern Territory.

This milestone reflects our commitment to turning land outcomes into practical, community-focused developments that support families today and create lasting value for future generations.

We look forward to sharing updates as the project moves from approval into delivery!

A great start to local connection in 2026!

LDC staff attended the year’s first Black Coffee event, connecting with other indigenous organisations and building relationships with like-minded peers across the community. Attending Black Coffee continues to strengthen our relationships and expand our networks as we continue to support collaboration with other Indigenous organisations and individuals.

Last week, members of the LDC Board, Larrakia Cultural Centre Board and LDC corporate team came together at the Darwin Trailer Boat Club for a multi-purpose gathering!

The event provided an opportunity for Mark Motlop, LDC Chair, to speak on behalf of the team and sincerely thank Tony Pickering for his substantial contribution during his time on the LDC Board. Tony’s insight, commercial acumen and commitment have helped shape the organisation, and we wish him every success and fulfilment in his retirement.

We also officially welcomed Anthony Whitfield as the new CEO of LDC and look forward to his leadership as we move into the next chapter of growth and opportunity.

In addition, we acknowledged and thanked Ian Doherty for his dedicated service as Interim CEO, recognising the stability, guidance and professionalism he provided during this important transition period.

An enjoyable evening spent recognising contribution, welcoming new leadership and strengthening connections across the organisation.
