No project plans were harmed, but a few teammates may have left with colourful battle scars.

The Georgiou Social Club in Western Australia swapped hard hats for masks for an afternoon of paintball, where quick thinking, collaboration and a little friendly competition were put to the test.

While the battlefield looked a little different from our usual project sites, the same principles applied — trust your teammates, communicate clearly and work together towards a common goal.

The fun didn't stop when the games ended, with the team enjoying lunch together afterwards and sharing stories from the battlefield.

As one participant put it: "It was a really fun experience and a great team-building activity as well."

A big thank you to everyone who joined and helped make it such a memorable day.

Local Conversations, Future Opportunities 🤝

Our Georgiou Koppens Joint Venture team recently attended the 2026 Meet the Buyer event in Cairns, connecting with local businesses and suppliers from across the region.

Events like these are a great opportunity to meet with local businesses, better understand the capability available in the region and identify practical ways to utilise local suppliers throughout project delivery.

Thanks to the organisers Cairns Regional Council and Queensland Government for putting the event together and to everyone who stopped by for a chat with the team.

Big progress at Ocean Reef Marina 🙌

70 pre-cast panels are now in place at the Destination Basin Edge Wall — a major step toward bringing this vibrant waterfront precinct to life.

Exciting additions are also taking shape, including a playground, boardwalk, bike pump track and shared community spaces designed for connection and outdoor fun.

Georgiou has been awarded the $26.7M Toyota Pre-Delivery Main Works project in Kewdale for Perron Group & Toyota WA.

The design and construct project will redevelop Toyota WA's existing facility into a modern Pre-Delivery Centre, including new warehouse infrastructure, EV charging, fuel and fire services, and extensive civil works - all delivered while live operations continue on site.

Our second project for Perron Group & Toyota WA after the recent completion of the Toyota Parts Distribution Centre in early 2025, early works commenced in January 2026, with completion scheduled for September 2027.

We look forward to working again with Perron Group & Toyota WA and delivering another high-quality outcome for Toyota WA and the wider Kewdale industrial precinct.

Five Years of Walks, Rides and River Views 🌉

Five years on, the Indooroopilly Riverwalk continues to play an important role in keeping Brisbane connected – becoming part of the daily routine for pedestrians and cyclists along the riverwalk.

More than reconnecting the missing link along the Brisbane River, this project restored connectivity, convenience and access for the local community – creating a space that continues to be used and enjoyed every day.

From early morning commutes to weekend rides and riverside walks, this project has become part of Brisbane’s everyday rhythm, a great reminder that the best infrastructure leaves a lasting impact well beyond construction.

Last month, our WA Cadets & Graduates swapped the office for a behind-the-scenes look at the Claremont Medical Centre project.

With many of the cohort coming from different BUs, it was a great chance to learn more about the Building team and experience delivery of a vertical construction project firsthand.

The Claremont team took us through the site and onto the Level 01 suspended slab… safe to say a few balancing skills were put to the test.

Big thanks to our Building BU and the Claremont team for hosting and sharing their knowledge and insights with the group!

Working in one of Perth’s most scenic suburbs, Ocean Reef, the team has been full steam ahead constructing the Stage 1 Marine Development for our client, Development WA. A landmark project, it is set to transform this coastal precinct into a thriving destination for living, boating and recreation.

Since commencing on site in March 2024, the team has:
🚤 Opened four brand-new boat ramps, with more on the way.
⚓ Commissioned boat hardstand facilities for the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club.
🏘 Undertaken civil works to prepare land for residential, retail, and commercial spaces.
🧱 Installed over 2,800 sandbags to form the impressive detention basin wall!
