Backing the Native Bees Rugby League Team for another year. 🏉

The Aboriginal rugby league team is led by Widi descendants, with a name that reflects their totem and deep connection to traditional lands across the Bowen Basin in Queensland where our proposed Burrenbring Battery project is located.

The team creates positive pathways for young Aboriginal athletes, building community connection, confidence and opportunity on and off the field.

Iberdrola Australia sponsored the Native Bees Rugby League Team in 2025 and again in 2026, supporting their participation in Mackay Indigenous Rugby League Carnivals throughout Queensland.

We are proud to sponsor both the upcoming Gin Gin Show and the Gin Gin Showball. These events strengthen community connection and celebrate everything that makes Gin Gin special.

Since its establishment in 1904, the show has grown into one of the most anticipated events in the Wide Bay region, providing a platform for farmers, producers and families to come together in a shared celebration of rural life.

The Gin Gin Show is a true showcase of Gin Gin’s people, skills and agricultural heritage.

Iberdrola Australia has strengthened its support for small-business suppliers, achieving 97% on-time payments in the latest reporting period, up from 91%.

This reflects a continued focus on meeting our standard 30-day payment terms and supporting the businesses we work with.

Payment performance is reported via the Australian Government’s Payment Times Public Register, providing transparency across industries and helping small businesses make informed decisions.

Timely payments are a key part of how we build strong, reliable partnerships with local suppliers.

We’re proud to once again support the Monduran Anglers and Stocking Association (MASA) and the 2026 Tackle World Bundaberg Lake Monduran Family Fishing Classic 🎣

Now in its 27th year, it’s one of Australia’s biggest freshwater fishing competitions, bringing together families, volunteers and anglers for a great weekend on the water.

This is our third year partnering with MASA, and it's great to be back supporting an event that means so much to the Gin Gin community.

The Hon Chris Bowen MP, Minister for Climate Change and Energy has announced a preliminary intention to award Iberdrola Australia an offshore feasibility license for the Aurora Green site off the coast of Gippsland, Victoria. A small way to say thank you to the local brigades who do so much to keep their communities safe. 🚒

March 31 marks the end of the official bushfire season in NSW and ACT, we’re looking back at a hands-on initiative from our Capital Renewable Energy Precinct (CREP) team during the 2025 season.

Led by Owner’s Representative Thomas Dwyer (CREP), the team prepared and donated ration packs for firefighters across five brigades supported by CREP: Bungendore RFS, Boro / Mount Fairy Rural Fire Brigade, Taylors Creek, Tarago Bushfire Brigade and NSW RFS - Gundary Brigade .

Each pack included electrolyte drinks, energy supplements, dried fruit, muesli bars, beef jerky, biscuits and confectionery — practical supplies to help firefighters and volunteers stay fuelled and hydrated during long deployments.

The CREP team also supported the NSW RFS Gundary Brigade by contributing towards new workshop equipment, including a bench, vice and storage unit, to assist with the maintenance of firefighting gear and support the brigade’s operational readiness.

We’re always grateful for the time, dedication and effort local brigades give to help keep their communities safe.

The Renewable Energy Supply Chain Forum was held in Moranbah yesterday. This is one of our initiatives organised jointly with our renewable energy collegues, council and local businesses.

The half-day forum brought together regional businesses, renewable energy developers and contractors, with a focus on upcoming projects, procurement pathways and how local businesses can prepare for future opportunities in the sector.

Iberdrola Australia was proud to be part of the panel, sharing experience across strategy, project delivery and pre-construction in complex infrastructure environments.

The Renewable Energy Supply Chain Forum was hosted by Isaac Business Chamber in partnership with Isaac Regional Council, Resource Industry Network and the Queensland Government.

Through our 2025 Community Grants Program in Orange NSW, we contributed a number of plants for the new prehistoric sensory garden at Canobolas Public School.

The Parents and Citizens Association were grateful for the contribution, which is helping create a rich learning experience for little explorers to see, hear and feel plants similar to those present in prehistoric times, including large tree ferns and grasses.

Here’s to more exploring and plenty of rooooaaaring. 🦖

This week our team marked International Women’s Day and this year’s theme, Give to Gain.

Across the week, we hosted a number of activities to recognise the contributions of women and the value of sharing knowledge, experience and opportunity.

We heard from Sarah Zeljko, who spoke about her career across the energy, agriculture and not-for-profit sectors, alongside women from across our business who unpacked common myths about women in the workplace and the energy industry.

To close out the week, our team also shared favourite books, podcasts, films and other creative work produced by women, and supported female-owned businesses with catering across our offices and sites.

Earlier this month, we were also proud to take part in a UNIQ You - Aus panel discussion alongside students from San Damiano College Yarrabilba, where we explored misconceptions, career pathways and the power of real stories.

Ararat Wind Farm has joined Iberdrola Australia’s portfolio following our recent acquisition.

This marks an important milestone for Iberdrola Australia as our first owned and operating asset in Victoria. At 242 MW, it also becomes the largest wind farm in our fleet. The site, in operation since 2017, comprises 75 GE turbines with a 135 m tip height and 103 m rotor diameter, delivering 242 MW of renewable capacity – generating enough clean electricity to power approximately 120,000 Victorian homes.

With the addition of Ararat Wind Farm, we now own and operate more than 2.5 GW of capacity across New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia, further strengthening our ability to deliver reliable, clean energy to communities across the country.
