🥰The Chinese class at the CEEC Dabar Hydropower Plant in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been running for a full year.
A year ago, many of the kids were too shy to speak. Now, every Saturday in the meeting room, more than 20 Bosnian students eagerly greet each other and chat in Chinese.📗 From reading "nǐ hǎo" after their teacher to confidently speaking full sentences, they've grown more self-assured with every practice session.
Outside the classroom, the teacher also shows the children how to make zongzi and lanterns and introduces them to the Chinese zither, helping them get closer to Chinese culture through hands-on activities and listening.🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️
Maja, a 14-year-old student, says: "I'm fascinated by Chinese culture, history, and food. Choosing to learn Chinese is the best decision I've ever made."

🏗️In 2018, CEEC staff working on Pakistan's Suki Kinari Hydropower Project arrived in Paros Town with the project. 🏫At the local primary school, our team talked with kids about daily life and taught them Chinese. Though their time together was short, seeds of friendship were planted.❤️
Back at the construction camp, CEEC team members kept writing to a local boy nicknamed "Xiaodou." ✍️They shared stories from their lives and inspired him to chase his dreams with Chinese tales like the Foolish Old Man Who Moved Mountains and Rise with the Rooster. For one birthday, Xiaodou sent a painting to his Chinese friends, with the words "WE ARE FAMILY." When the first unit of the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project connected to the grid, lights came on across Paros Town. Six years later, Xiaodou and his Chinese pen pals have exchanged 75 letters. Now 16 years old, he wrote in one letter: "Our house is lit up. So is our whole village."💡

🌴Palm kernel shells, palm fronds, and other agricultural waste can be turned into electricity for homes?
In Côte d'Ivoire, the Biovea 46MW Biomass Power Plant, built under a general contracting arrangement with CEEC's participation, is the largest biomass plant under construction in West Africa. It makes full use of the region's abundant palm residues to generate power and is expected to meet the daily electricity needs of around 1.7 million people.💡
Faced with the heat and heavy rain of the tropics, CEEC upgraded the feeding equipment, optimized boiler combustion control and the units' independent operation scheme, and made it possible to smoothly convey damp materials, co-fire a mix of biomass fuels, and improve the units' adaptability to local grid conditions. The project is expected to become Africa's first biomass plant to run on a mixed fuel of palm, rubber, and other materials, using technological innovation to drive efficient use of local agricultural waste.♻️

In Samarkand, Uzbekistan, a cement plant invested in by CEEC has been up and running for three years. Jismonsoy is one of the most remote villages in the area, where over 80% of residents make a living growing grapes. 🍇But water shortages have long held the community back. To help solve the problem, CEEC staff went into the village to survey the land, find water sources, and drill wells, bringing well water to the village.🏘️
🌊The well water now irrigates the vineyards, and it also nourishes the trust and friendship between CEEC and local residents. 🤝From water access support to job matching and skills training, CEEC has integrated into the local community and grown alongside it throughout the project's construction and operation.❤️

World’s first ship-to-ship green ammonia bunkering completed!🚢
On October 13, at the Zhoushan anchorage in China, 1,000 tonnes of green ammonia from CEEC’s HyFlow-1 Songyuan Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park were transferred to a 210,000-tonne ammonia-powered vessel owned by Belgium’s CMB.TECH. The fuel was delivered by the “Shenghang Yongle,” the world’s first dedicated liquid ammonia bunkering vessel.
The ammonia is produced at Songyuan using wind and solar power run electrolysis, with the hydrogen then synthesised into green ammonia.. Phase I produces 200,000 tons of green ammonia a year, cutting about 740,000 tons of carbon annually. Every ton is green-certified.♻️
From production, transport, and storage to bunkering and end use, the entire green ammonia value chain has been connected for the first time, paving the way for commercial use of zero-carbon fuel for ocean shipping.🌐

Across nearly 100 kilometers of gobi construction zone with no public network coverage, the project team built its own private wireless communications network to create a “digital sensing web”. AI automatically flags safety violations such as missing hard‑hats and unauthorized access with real‑time alerts. All data on personnel, equipment, progress and quality feeds into one unified platform.🖥️
The impact of digital tools is clear to see: on‑site safety violations have dropped by more than 60%. Site inspections no longer mean long days on the road — just a few mouse clicks. Management has shifted from experience‑led to data‑driven operations.📈

On the Kwanza River in Angola, a mega‑project is steadily taking shape.✨
Recently, Caculo Cabaça Hydropower Station built by CEEC has finished concrete lining for Tailrace Tunnel No.1, marking another key step toward full commissioning.
💡With a total installed capacity of 2,172 MW, the hydropower plant will generate 8,566 GWh annually upon completion — enough to cover over 40 % of Angola’s power demand.

Recently, 🏨CEEC's headquarters office building in Beijing, China, achieved 100% green power for its operations.
Through market-based electricity trading, the headquarters building will replace over 8 million kWh of electricity each year, cutting CO₂ emissions by about 6,280 tons. That's equivalent to the amount absorbed by 343,000 trees in a full year, while saving nearly RMB 200,000 in electricity costs annually.🌿🌱
🥰From developing green energy to using green energy across the board, CEEC's green practices keep expanding. In the future, green power substitution will gradually cover more office buildings, industrial plants, and construction sites around the world, making low-carbon a part of everyday life.
