This summer, weโve had the pleasure of welcoming Niko Sapor, an Engineering student from Newcastle University, to William Hackett as part of our ๐๐๐บ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฝ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐บ๐บ๐ฒ.
Niko initially joined us with a clear project: to support the cleansing and improvement of product data within our ERP system. However, his contribution has gone well beyond the original brief.
After spending his first week in our warehouse getting hands-on experience and developing an understanding of our products, Niko moved into our Technical Office and quickly became part of the team.
Over the course of his internship, Niko has:
๐ธ Supported the cleansing and improvement of our ERP product data
๐ธUpdated and improved product information on the William Hackett website
๐ธ Created technical CAD drawings
๐ธ Liaised directly with suppliers
๐ธ Researched Product Information Management (PIM) solutions and is preparing a full proposal and recommendation for the business
Josh Burgess - Business Transformation Lead, who has worked closely with Niko, said:
"What has impressed us just as much as the work itself, is the way Niko has approached the opportunity. He has shown real maturity, initiative and adaptability, quickly becoming comfortable in a professional office environment and conducting himself extremely well in meetings with both internal colleagues and external suppliers.
Heโs also brought a great sense of humour to the office and has fit into the team incredibly well.
Itโs been great to see Niko take an initial data-cleansing project and turn his internship into an opportunity to contribute across several areas of the business. We hope the experience has given him some valuable insight into how engineering, technical data and digital transformation come together within a manufacturing business".
A big thank you to Niko for all his hard work this summer, and we wish him every success as he continues his Engineering degree at Newcastle University๐
