Last week, we said goodbye to one of our longest tenured colleagues Emma Scorror, and we want to take a moment to recognise the huge impact she has had during her time at Drone Ag.
Bringing a strong agricultural background and GIS expertise into her role, Emma played a key part in bridging the gap between farming knowledge and technology. Her understanding of the industry helped ensure that what we built with Skippy Scout was genuinely useful and relevant to the people using it.
Emma has been central to shaping Skippy Scout into what it is today. From managing the Skippy Soil R&D project, to leading early GIS feature development, including the report heatmaps and field import functionality that many of our users rely on.
Emma also worked for a very long time on the earlier iterations of ML model development, including laborious hours and days on annotation and segmentation, and backend and database work that has left a lasting mark on the platform, not to mention the years of feature and release testing she has done behind the scenes.
She was also instrumental in the conceptualisation and building of the original Spheres UI MVP, helping to bring arguably our most impactful feature to life.
We could continue on this thread ad infinitum, but beyond Skippy itself, Emma worked closely with customers old and new, supporting onboarding, managing relationships, and representing Drone Ag at many trade shows and demos with professionalism and energy.
Emma, thank you for all your hard work, dedication, and the many contributions you have made over the years, including the many we haven't mentioned here. You have been a valued part of the team and you will be greatly missed.
We wish you all the very best for what comes next.
