I’m championing our critical minerals sector both here in South East Cornwall and up in Westminster to provide quality local jobs and unlock economy growth.

I recently met with the Managing Director at Cornwall Resources, Dennis Rowland, to talk about how the site at Kelly Bray is progressing and the £30 million Kernow Industrial Growth Fund that was created by the Labour government.

I will continue to be a voice of support for Cornish industry and critical minerals wherever I go.

This means we can:

🙌 Deliver a new drilling programme across our permitted sites to understand more about our resources
🤝 Continue to create new, high-value jobs for Kelly Bray and share the value through our continued commitment to local procurement
🫶 Continue to deliver our programme of community engagement and environmental monitoring

CRL and the 1st Callington Scouts teamed up to plant an orchard! 🍎🍏

🌱Planting three semi-mature apple trees, alongside a variety of wild cherry, hazel, dogrose, elder and blackthorn, the scouts have helped to create more habitat and forage for wildlife, as well as a variety of edible fruits and nuts for the local landowner.

🌳The scouts learned about the importance of tree planting to support biodiversity and reduce carbon emissions, as well as about the rich history of mining in Callington and Kelly Bray

We are so grateful to the Callington Scouts and their leaders for all their fantastic hard work, and to our local landowners for supporting our sustainability goals!

On Tuesday, Dennis Rowland, Managing Director of Cornwall Resources Limited, joined Jeremy Wrathall of Cornish Lithium and Fawzi Hanon of Cornish Metals with Perran Moon for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle, Noah Law for St Austell & Newquay and Anna Gelderd MP with representatives from industry bodies the CMGA and CMA at No.10.

Presenting to Senior Advisors to both the PM and Chancellor, alongside civil servants from the Office for Investment, Department for Business and Trade, no.10 and Treasury the attendees highlighted the incredible opportunities represented by critical minerals in Cornwall, and the projects leading the way developing tin/ tungsten/ and /lithium projects.

The projects highlighted the growth and development opportunities that could be generated in Cornwall and the barriers they face, as well as outlining the types of support required to bring the Duchies critical minerals to the world stage.

It is incredibly important that these opportunities are addressed at the highest levels of Government, and we are appreciative of the strong and continued support provided by our Cornish MPs.
