Every site needs a supervisor. Ours has four legs.

Meet Boss. He's been on site with Reuben since he was 9 weeks old, and he's been by his side every day since. Hi-vis on site at Flushing School, on parade in front of the fleet (RW Groundworks, RW Highway Maintenance and RW Waste Removal), and he even has his own traffic management card.

In his downtime he enjoys boats, hoes and sirloins.

This week Boss has been promoted to Head of Customer Feedback. If we've done a job for you, a couple of lines on Google takes two minutes and helps other people in Cornwall find a contractor they can trust. Boss reads every one. He can't type, but he's very good at looking pleased.

New signs up at the Helston roundabout.

RW Groundworks, RW Highway Maintenance and RW Waste Removal, all on one board. Groundworks, civil engineering, demolition, plant hire, new builds and extensions. Driveways, drop kerbs, tarmac, highways and street works. And waste removal on top.

We're now registered with Constructionline too, with our Gold verification underway, so watch this space.

Another drop kerb job done. This is one of many we've done over the last few months, and this one was in Newquay.

New radius kerbs, concrete back edges, a 20mm base and a fresh 6mm tarmac top. Two days start to finish: day one we prepped it all and took the old material away, day two the base and the top went down. Footway closed and signed while we worked.

Gwinear school: cracked slabs and worn grass to new paving and paths.

Old slabs lifted where grass had grown through the joints, a paved terrace the full length of the classrooms with handrail and steps, membrane and new paving to the fire door, and concrete paths across the playing field. Our own lorry and digger, worked around the school.

Absolutely huge one from RW Groundworks.

4,000 metres of drainage landed on the X2 solar farms in Perth, Scotland.

And from the first site meeting, Reuben with Jordan Keane (J Keane Plant Hire), to full site mobilisation: work has started on Cordon Farm, with Oz and Jamie on site for RW Groundworks. Work is well ahead of schedule, and we're looking to start the groundworks at Carey Farm in a week's time.

Flushing School, before and after.

Worn green surface dug out, crushed stone craned in over the wall, new compacted sub-base, blue wet-pour with the drain covers set flush, Acho drain system installed to help protect the school from damp / flooding issues. Slides 1 to 3 are from the same standing spot so you can see the change properly.

Quiet on here. Flat out on site.

Since the spring we have resurfaced a school playground in Flushing, laid new paths and a paved terrace at Gwinear Community Primary School, and transformed an overgrown garden near Helston into a gravel drive with gates, decking and a patio. Swipe for a look at each.
