Over the year, Think Hire has had its net zero targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative , one of only 2,498 companies globally with approved targets. Completed independently assured product carbon footprints to ISO 14067:2018 across our SiteGrid and Solartainer range. And earned Positive Planet Bronze certification for the second consecutive year, off the back of a 28% reduction in our own Scope 1 and 2 emissions.

Three independent verifications. Publicly listed and independently assured.

The trophy finally arrived at our HQ. Worth the wait.

Think Hire, named a finalist for Green Business of the Year at the British Business Awards 2026, in association with NatWest and in partnership with The Times and The Sunday Times.

The evening in Edinburgh was one to remember.
2,000 business leaders, a judging panel chaired by former Unilever CEO Alan Jope CBE, keynote speaker Sir Bob Geldof, co-hosted by Rob Brydon and Elaine C Smith, with a rather unexpected special guest appearance by George Clooney.

We were finalists alongside AstraZeneca, ILI Group, Orbital Marine Power Ltd, Robertson Group, Russell Group, Smurfit Westrock , and Whyte & Mackay. For us, being in that room is about one thing: a collective effort in decarbonisation.
The more businesses committed to it, the better.

Congratulations to AstraZeneca on a well-deserved win, who invested over $1 billion to drive climate action across their operations and value chain.
Being in the same category and competing at that level is something we don't take for granted.

The judges recognised Think Hire's distinctive product-led environmental proposition, as well as our practical, customer-facing evidence, and a clear sector case.
We'll take that, and we'll come back stronger.

This week's heatwave brings extreme temperatures across the UK, and for our systems, that means one thing: peak renewables performance.

Outlook for our customers this week: exceptional. Mostly solar, with a high chance of record renewable input hitting 90% or above.

Extreme temperatures do raise safety concerns, though.
Our units are built for any conditions, with an operating range of -20°C to +50°C and cooling systems as standard.

The SiteGrid X BESS range offers active forced-air cooling, liquid-cooled batteries, and a PI heating film for the full temperature spectrum, plus built-in overheat protection.

Our advanced energy management software, Think Energy Panorama, powered by Galooli, protects and supports every asset in real time. If a unit is running hot, it knows before anyone on site does and acts before it becomes a problem.

This week, we're looking back at eight years of Think Hire. Starting with where it all began.

It started with an idea. An aspiration, really.
How do you decarbonise one of the most diesel-reliant industries in the world?
You build something nobody has built before.

That's how the Solartainer Versatile was born. Renewable, reliable energy, available in the most remote locations without mains dependence.

The first unit deployed on site delivered an 87% reduction in CO2 compared to a standard generator in its first month.
From that one unit, we built a renewable fleet that put sustainable energy within reach for sites across the UK.

Today, the Solartainer Versatile comes in multiple configurations, including a world-first glycerine-backup option.
It won a Best Innovation Award for New Technology Products at the Scottish Renewables Awards, and the glycerine variant became a finalist in the edie Awards.

We now run a nationwide network of depots, covering every sector, every remote location.

And our very first Solartainer? Still functional. Still in our yard at HQ.

Eight years ago today, Think Hire was founded with one ambition: to give construction sites a cleaner way to power their operations.

We started with a prototype. The original Solartainer, a solar, battery and generator hybrid that nobody had seen on a UK construction site before.
In its first month, it delivered an 87% reduction in CO2 compared to a standard generator.
That was the breakthrough.

We're looking for a Hire Controller to join the Think Hire Ltd team at our HQ in Oldham.

A front-line role in a fast-growing business: managing customer enquiries, converting opportunities, and coordinating kit and logistics to deliver a great customer experience. You'll be helping drive decarbonisation across some of the UK's biggest infrastructure projects, working with an outstanding team in an award-winning business.

That means you'll be working alongside Chase, Bruno, and possibly even John Stones on any given day.
