Attending Seawork 2026? Come and see us on stand P28!

This will be our first Seawork as AIS Marine, after transitioning from Manuplas® earlier this year. We will be joined by our Ovun sales team to showcase our full range of marine solutions, from vessel fendering to marine navigation systems, quayside protection to security barriers.

Visit our stand to discover how we can tailor our offering to your exact project requirements, see some of our products for yourself, or have a chat with our team of marine experts.

Falmouth Harbour has strengthened its position as one of the UK’s leading deep-water ports with a £50,000 upgrade to their post-WW2 steel mooring buoys.

AIS Marine replaced the old buoys with 3 m x 2 m mooring buoys with a buoyancy of 7000 kg, engineered to absorb impact to protect both buoy and vessel.

The new mooring systems have strengthened Falmouth Harbour’s ability to accommodate large superyachts and commercial vessels, supporting increased harbour activity and contributing to wider economic benefits to the local marine sector and its community.

MGMT Superyacht Agency’s Mark Upton said:

“The introduction of the new mooring buoys in Falmouth has been very well received by the Superyachts we have sent there so far this year. With the switch from steel to the new design buoys there is a far lower chance of any damage to the vessels using them – which means Captains and their crews feel more comfortable using the moorings.”

Earlier this month, members of the AIS Marine team travelled to our Plymouth site from Portugal, France, and Norway, for our first sales conference since welcoming Ovun to the AIS Group.

Over two productive days, we discussed upcoming projects and plans for the exciting year ahead. Collaboration across our team continues to play a vital role as we strengthen our presence in existing markets and expand into new ones.

It was especially valuable to welcome Sigurd Brevik from Ovun, who brings fresh insights and expertise to AIS Marine as we grow together.

AIS Marine’s mooring buoys have proven performance in demanding environments.

Our customer needed a reliable, low-maintenance mooring buoy for vessels operating in one of Australia’s busiest harbours.

To maximise service life and reduce total cost of ownership, our solutions combined:
• High-performance polyurethane elastomer skin for durability and low maintenance
• Closed-cell foam core for inherent buoyancy and resilience
• Kevlar reinforcement to enhance tear resistance in high-impact conditions.

The result? Enhanced protection for both vessel and buoy during heavy contact across variable weather conditions.

Reducing total cost of ownership in mooring operations.

Our mooring buoys are engineered to minimise lifecycle costs while improving asset protection:
• High impact absorption reduces vessel and infrastructure damage
• Durable, abrasion-resistant materials extend service life
• Low maintenance design lowers incurred operational costs
• Virtually unsinkable construction mitigates loss risk.

For port operators, this creates a practical approach to risk reduction and ROI in marine environments.

Trusted mooring solutions for complex marine operations.

Our range of cylindrical, barrel, and modular mooring buoys is designed to support:
• Permanent and temporary harbour mooring
• Large vessel berthing
• Long-term mooring for infrequently used vessels.

With configurable steelwork, multiple mooring interfaces, and optional integrated features, each solution can be tailored to operational requirements.

Selected by organisations including the RNLI and Ministry of Defence, our mooring buoys have proven service in demanding commercial environments.

Take a sneak peek at our Norwegian facility...

Last year, we acquired Ovun, a Norwegian specialist in polymer-based products for various industries, with production facilities in Åndalsnes, Innlandet and Molde. Since joining us, the team has been busy working behind the scenes as they form a vital part of our AIS Marine brand.

In the below video, Managing Director Jan Møllerhaug shares who they are, what they do, and gives a closer look at their facility.

Keep an eye out for future posts as we share the innovative products from across our suite of Marine products.

Creating safer mooring operations through engineered materials and design.

Our mooring buoys combine closed-cell polyethylene foam cores with high-performance polyurethane elastomer skins to deliver impact absorption and structural integrity.

The result: a virtually unsinkable solution, configurable across cylindrical, barrel, and modular formats, engineered to perform reliably in high-load, high-exposure marine environments.
