Driveway or no driveway, EV drivers deserve access to affordable charging.

Following the latest Budget announcements, our CEO Chris Pateman-Jones has shared his views on what needs to happen next to make electric driving fairer for everyone.

While the £100m investment to support near-home public charging is a positive step, it must be backed by long-term action that tackles the underlying costs that make public charging more expensive than charging at home.

To deliver meaningful change for drivers, we need a clear plan from Government, Ofgem and the Department for Transport that addresses the root causes of the affordability gap. The Government must not delay. Connected Kerb stands ready to support efforts to ensure these measures deliver meaningful, lasting benefits and greater fairness for EV drivers who cannot charge at home.

At Connected Kerb, we believe access to affordable EV charging shouldn't depend on whether you have a driveway. Ending the driveway divide is essential to making the transition to electric vehicles fair, accessible and achievable for all.‌

We’ve finished installing 62 brand-new EV charging sockets across 10 Forest of Dean District Council car parks. Because getting stuck in the woods around Halloween with 1% battery should only happen in horror movies.

Our CEO, Chris Pateman-Jones is calling on the Chancellor to tackle the unfair cost faced by EV drivers who can’t charge at home.

Writing in The Scotsman, he argues that VAT on near-home public charging should be cut to match home charging, helping make the switch to electric fairer and more affordable for the millions of households without a driveway.

Today we're proud to announce a major investment in UK EV charging manufacturing through Urban EV Infrastructure Ltd, a subsidiary of Connected Kerb.

Following our acquisition of Trojan Energy earlier this year, we've invested £350,000 to enhance and expand our Aberdeen operation, strengthening UK manufacturing capability and building greater resilience into the supply chains that will support the next generation of EV charging infrastructure.

⚡ A further 25,000 chargers planned by the end of 2030.

For Bedford Borough Council, the answer is simple: people use them.
Driven by real demand across their existing network, Bedford is now rolling out another 900 charging sockets to reach both urban centers and rural villages.

🌳 A Day Well Spent in Cambridge

Saving the world doesn't always happen behind a desk. Sometimes it means pulling on a pair of gloves and getting stuck in.

Our team recently spent the day volunteering at Cherry Hinton Hall Park in Cambridge, working alongside Cambridge City Council to support its Trees for Babies scheme and give one of the city's much-loved green spaces a little TLC.

Armed with litter pickers, wheelbarrows and plenty of elbow grease, we helped clear and restore a tree compound and collected four large sacks of litter from around the park. It might sound like a few small jobs, but when people come together, small actions can make a big difference.

The highlight? Seeing the transformation of the tree compound and knowing it'll help support a brilliant scheme that gives local residents free trees to plant and enjoy for years to come.

A huge thank you to the team at Cambridge City Council for showing us the ropes and making us feel so welcome throughout the day.
