🔋 New publication with a contribution from ElectroCat! 😼⚡️😎👌
We are happy to share that our colleague Marjan Bele contributed to a new article in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, together with our colleagues and collaborators working upstairs in the field of battery materials.
The work focuses on Li- and Mn-rich layered cathode materials for Li-ion batteries and shows how synthesis chemistry can influence their structure and performance.
Maybe this could be also good electrocatalysts 😉 as they contain Ni and Co...
Congratulations to all authors! 👏

The electrochemical performance and structural stability of Li- and Mn-rich layered oxide cathodes are critically influenced by synthesis conditions, yet the roles of chelating agents and defect chemistry remains elusive. In this study, we systematically investigate Li1.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13O2 cathode...

😼 Even when we think we can not get rid of these cats… they always somehow find their way onto the whiteboard.🐈
Marjan in deep scientific thought, surrounded by electrochemical curves, catalyst ideas, and — inevitably — cats. 🐈‍⬛️
Because apparently, in our lab, we simply cannot think without them. 😸🐱😽
Science is serious business, but a little whiteboard chaos makes the ideas flow better.😻

Our Blaž published in Nature!!! 🤩

🎉 Huge congratulations for his excellent Tools of the Trade piece in Nature Reviews Clean Technology: “Pulsed electrolysis for stable electrocatalysis.”
In this article, Blaž highlights how pulsed electrolysis can help address one of the key challenges in electrocatalysis: maintaining catalyst performance and stability under operating conditions. By using controlled redox-driven reconstruction, pulsed electrolysis offers an exciting route toward dynamically stable catalyst surfaces and more durable electrochemical processes.
We are super proud od Blaž ⚡️😼😎 and to see Blaž’s work featured in a Nature journal series that gives early-career researchers a platform to present the tools, methods and ideas shaping the future of clean technology.
👏 Congratulations, Blaž — very well deserved!

Congratulations to Mitja ⚡😸😎 on this excellent work! 👏🔬
Really cool paper! Respect!

A realistic evaluation of electrocatalyst stability requires experimental setups that accurately reproduce the coupled chemical and transport environments of membrane-electrode assemblies. Conventional GDE half-cells, however, are typically operated without a proton-exchange membrane, exposing the c...
