Michigan State University leadership hosted more than 100 stakeholders and friends of the university on May 14 to celebrate the opening of the newly renovated MSU Plant Science Research Greenhouse Complex.

Upgrades to the greenhouse complex include state-of-the-art environmental controls and LED lighting configured to respond to varying external climate conditions. New greenhouses will allow Spartan scientists and students across the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the MSU College of Natural Science to conduct controlled experiments under a variety of growth, environmental and stress conditions. Our Muskegon team continues their volunteering streak with the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce! Last week, they helped clean common areas aboard the USS Silversides Submarine Museum in anticipation of their Memorial Day Weekend Events. If you're near the lakeshore, make sure to catch the Lights of Honor this Saturday for a day of history and remembrance!

Earlier this week, Egan's field crews joined job sites across the country in OSHA's National Safety Stand Down to Prevent Falls. This joint effort was part of Construction Safety Week 2026, which centers around three pillars — Recognize, Respond and Respect — to prevent serious injuries and fatalities. Addressing the dangers of high-energy, high-hazard work ensures that everyone makes it home safely, every single day.
