KPFF Portland Civil + Structural + Survey At KPFF, we are more than consultants - we are partners with our clients. What does being a partner mean?

Established in 1960, our 1000+ structural and civil engineers are licensed in all 50 states. We offer a broad range of structural and civil engineering and surveying services. From base-isolation, dampers, carbon fiber strengthening, and seismic upgrades, to tilt-up, wood frame, and anchorage of mechanical units, our structural engineers are available and experienced to work on projects of any size and complexity. From master planning, highway interchange design and managing multidisciplinary teams for large infrastructure projects, to residential platting, and feasibility studies, our civil engineers have the experience to successfully deliver a wide range of project scopes.

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Café Mam to our office to learn about their journey, the communities behind their coffee, and the story that makes every cup so special.

From their roots in Chiapas, Mexico, where their coffee is grown high in the Sierra Madre Mountains beneath the canopy of native forests, to roasting every batch fresh after an order is placed, we learned just how much care goes into every cup. We also loved hearing how they give back, with 2% of their coffee sales supporting nonprofits.

A huge thank you to Megan for traveling all the way to our office to share these stories with us, answer our questions, and even bring some incredible coffee for us to try! We walked away with a whole new appreciation for the coffee in our cups.

Next time you enjoy your morning coffee, take a moment to think about the people and stories behind it. ☕️

A change of plans turned into a chance to give back. 🍎

With CANstruction canceled this year, some of our KPFFers joined our friends at ZGF Architects and Swinerton over the weekend to volunteer at the Oregon Food Bank, the beneficiary of the event.

Together, the group helped repack 6,588 apples to support the Food Bank and the communities they serve. While CANstruction may not have happened as planned, the need in our community is still very much there and grateful we could spend the day lending a hand.

A little friendly competition and a few hero moments out on the course.

A couple weekends ago, our team hit the green for the KPFF Golf Extravaganza. As one of our KPFFers put it, “Everyone gets a hero moment.” Those brief moments when an otherwise struggling player pulls off one legendary shot that saves the day.

Safe to say, there were a few hero moments to go around! 🏌️‍♂️👏

From residential lot to neighborhood gathering spot. 🌳🛝

East Side Park is bringing new spaces to play, gather, and spend time outdoors in Forest Grove, all while keeping some of the site’s natural character intact. One of our favorite details? An existing willow tree was incorporated right into the park design.

Can’t wait to see this space become part of the neighborhood!

How five improvement projects came together into one major corridor upgrade, including a new roundabout, bridge, and fish passage improvements.
